What happens during the Consultation?
During your first consultation with the chiropractor, you'll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. In order to pinpoint your problem, the Chiropractor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed if necessary to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. Your Chiropractor will explain how chiropractic works and will answer any questions you may have. They will also give you an idea of the number of treatments you will need and give you after care advice.
What happens during treatment?
Once the case history is complete the Chiropractor will ask you to change and sit on the bench. Gowns are provided for those that wish to wear them. The Chiropractor will then palpate down the spine of the patient to get an idea of tensions and problem areas and they may ask you to perform some simple tests. The Chiropractor will then explain what they think is happening and how it can be treated and then will treat you.
Will you give me exercises to do at home?
This will depend on your condition. If required, before leaving, you'll be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be carried out at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions and sometimes stretches and exercises.
How often will you need to see me?
Regular treatment is essential to the process. We arrange our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within a week and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed at this time.
