Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body’s natural balance. It is a
gentle therapy which encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own equilibrium.
During the Initial Consultation the practitioner
takes a case history to determine your present and past health and lifestyle. Acting on what the reflexologist learns, they will then use their hands to apply gentle pressure to the feet, the
application and the effect of the treatment are unique to each person.
A professionally trained reflexologist can usually detect subtle changes in certain points on the feet, and by working on
these points can help the person to become more balanced, relaxed and healthy.
The first consultation will be for around 1 ¼ hours, including a treatment of about an hour. A course of
treatment could be advised depending on your body’s needs.
Following consultations will be for 1 hour.
Most people notice a sense of relaxation and well-being, sometimes people may feel lethargic or emotional but this is only temporary and is a part
of the healing process. This is important information to feed back to your reflexologist as it shows how your body is responding to treatment and will enable the reflexologist to tailor a treatment
plan specific to your needs.
